Familiarity does not always breed contempt; sometimes it leads to a deeper appreciation. The fact that we know this ageless song so well makes us love it more. Some of us love it for memories of a voice that will never speak again in this world, others for the comfort it has brought in a storm.

Psalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Lo conocido no siempre implica hartazgo, sino que, a veces, nos lleva a un mejor aprecio. El hecho de que esta canción inolvidable sea tan conocida, nos hace incluso amarla aún más. Algunos por los recuerdos de una voz que nunca volverá a sonar en este mundo, otros por el consuelo que proporcionó en los días de tormenta.

Salmo 23

Jehová es mi pastor; nada me faltará.

En lugares de delicados pastos me hará descansar; Junto a aguas de resposo me pastoreará.

Confortará mi alma; Me guiará por sendas de justicia por amor de su nombre.

Aunque ande en valle de sombra de muerte, No temeré mal alguno, porque tú estarás conmigo; Tu vara y tu cayado me infundirán aliento:

Aderezas mesa delante de mí en presencia de mis angustiadores; Unges mi cabeza con aceite; mi copa está rebosando.

Ciertamente el bien y la misericordia me seguirán todos los días de mi vida, Y en la casa de Jehová moraré por largos días.
